Wisdom and discernment will be key in this new era of the church. What we believe should line up with the Holy Spirit and the Word of God. In order to progress in this new era we will need to re-evaluate our beliefs and make sure they line up with God’s plumb line of righteousness.
“And the LORD asked me, “What do you see, Amos?” “A plumb line,” I replied. Then the Lord said, “Look, I am setting a plumb line among my people Israel; I will spare them no longer.” Amos 7:8
Some of our deeply established beliefs aren’t true. We believe they are because of how long we have held on to them. ~Dr. Mark Chironna
The Holt Spirit is about to visit God’s people. We must be able to discern between the precious and the profane. What’s true and what’s false. The only way we can doe this is if we are discerning what’s happening around us.
”Moreover, they shall teach My people the difference between the holy and the profane, and cause them to discern between the unclean and the clean..” Ezekiel 44:23 New American Standard Bible (NASB)
In 1 John 4:1 we are warned “not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world.”
Apostle Paul prays in Philippians 1:9-10, “that your love may abound more and more in knowledge and depth of insight, 10 so that you may be able to discern what is best and may be pure and blameless for the day of Christ,” It’s imperative that we as Christ’s church abound more and more in revelation and insight in all things, enabling us to choose wisely.
The phrase “I would not have your ignorant” is used several times in Scripture (1 Cor. 10:1; 12:1; 1 Thess. 4:13). What Paul is saying is, “I know you’re ignorant about this subject, but you don’t have to be.”
The number one weapon Satan is deploying in these last days is deception. The Book of Revelation describes Satan’s activity as one “who leads the whole world astray. He was hurled to the earth, and his angels with him.” Deceiving “the nations in the four corners of the earth.” (Revelation 12:9; 20:8)
The gift of discerning of spirits is so needed in the body of Christ. We must learn to distinguish the voice of God from the counterfeit. We must be able to discern what is true or false. What is real or counterfeit. “Dear friends, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world.” (John 4:1)
We must realize the coming of Christ is imminent.
May God speak to you mightily through this series of messages.
